It consists of base-plate assembly, door panel assembly, and shaft assembly.
The base-plate assembly (the most important component) is the actuator of a power door system.
Ivy’s base-plate consists of electrical driving mechanism, driving gear, connecting rack, and shaft gears.
The baseplate assemblies incorporate the mechanism that converts central electrical motor rotation to gear racks linear motion to rotary motion of the door shafts on the both side. By adjusting speed control of motor through DCU, you can easily adjust the door opening and closing speed.
The smoothness of door opening and closing motion can be achieved by using empty stroke mechanism mounted inside of right gear rack. Whole mechanism has been lifecycle tested to meet heavy-duty use of transit buses. The microcontroller-based Ivy Control Module is available for complex door control system that require interface with multiple sensors and vehicle system. It also can be supplied with sensitive edge features. Ivy’s door panel is made in alloy aluminum, which has the attributes of lightweight, high strength, and long life. The door panel normally comes with sensitive edge feature and is also modernly designed to match the bus body design. The shaft assembly is designed for easy installation and maintenance.
1. AUTO-OPERATION When “open” or “close” switch is pushed, the electric motor will be actuated, which actuate the gear racks on both sides. The gear rack’s linear motions are transfer to door shaft rotations by gear-rack mechanism. With guide roller which is mounted on the top of door panel moving along the roller channel, the door panel rotates inward or outward to open or close.
2. EMERGENCY RELEASE In case of emergency, Pull the emergency handle inside the vehicle or outside vehicle to detach the motor and gear box. Manually push the door panel front edge to open the door.
3. SENSITIVE EDGE In case the passenger or other items are clamped during the vehicle door closing, the sensitive edge of door panel will be actuated to reverse the motion to open the door.
